Trochilin Yataghan (Hummingbird)

The Yatagan was a much embelished weapon, both practical and rugged yet steeped in symbolism and wealth. Issued to Janissary - common infantry - yet bejewelled and prized by Sultans. These weapons have roots from early bronze weaponry, and in this incarnation were prevalent in Turkey in the 16th through 19th Century. A hummingbird can be seen poised on the blade decor.
